Seagull Air Maintenance was called to support an AOG situation involving an Airbus A320ceo at Burgas Airport following a bird strike shortly after departure.
Our engineering team immediately attended the aircraft and, in accordance with the applicable approved maintenance data, performed the required inspections of the affected engine.
The inspection identified damage to several fan blades and the engine air inlet requiring corrective action.
In close coordination with the customer’s MCC, the necessary components, consumables and special tooling were rapidly arranged and delivered to our facility through a combination of ground and air transportation.
A borescope inspection of the engine was successfully completed, followed by replacement of the affected components.
Once the maintenance activities were completed, an engine ground run and power assurance check were performed to verify that all engine parameters, including vibration levels, were within the required limits before the aircraft was released back to service.
This AOG recovery was another strong example of what can be achieved through effective coordination, logistics and teamwork when every hour matters.
A big thank you to the Seagull Air Maintenance engineering team for their dedication and professionalism, as well as to our customer’s MCC and technical teams for the excellent cooperation throughout the recovery.
